McDermott on 'unplayable' Kebe

Posted on: Sat 13 Mar 2010
Royals boss Brian McDermott this week described winger Jimmy Kebe as 'at times unplayable' and the manager is getting the very best out of the Malian international.

Since Brian took charge in December, Jimmy has scored seven goals in 8(+8) appearances, including six in his last seven games. Prior to McDermott being handed the reins, Jimmy had registered three goals in 52(+14) games.

The 26-year-old was instrumental in our win over Derby in midweek, scoring one and setting up two more as he terrorised the County defence. He also registered the fastest goal in Reading FC history against West Brom a few weeks ago and was named February's player of the month.

McDermott said, "Jimmy is enjoying himself and he is shining in our team structure.

"He has a bond with the fans and that's the key. When I took over a key for me was building the bond with the fans, the camaraderie. The fans sing Jimmy's name and others too, which is so, so, important for their confidence."

Tickets for this weekend's game are on general sale now to all Member Card holders. Telephone 0844 249 1871, use the online ticketing service or visit in person.
