Live updates
2pm - Reading's team is in. Andy Griffin is injured so Brynjar Gunnarsson starts at right back today. Jobi McAnuff also starts in place of Grzegorz Rasiak, who is on the bench.

2:20pm - Bristol City are unchanged from their 1-0 win at Crystal Palace in midweek. The only change to their 18 sees Marvin Elliott take a place on the bench ahead of Gavin Williams.

2.58pm - After a minute's silence in honour of Richard Green and all the fallen heroes who have fought for our country, the game is about to start.

3 mins - Bradley Orr has the first shot on goal but he scuffs it well wide from 16 yards out.

6 mins - A quite superb ball into Long by Sigurdsson but Long touches it off looking for McAnuff instead of turning and shooting. He thought he would have a Bristol defender in close attendance but he was wrong. He nearly makes an amends immediately when his dummy almost allows Sigurdsson a run in on goal, but Gerken is out to gather at the Icelander's feet.

9 mins - Howard is cynically scythed down by Lee Johnson who is shown the yellow card. Sigurdsson's set piece beats the wall but skims just wide of the bottom left corner.

12 mins - GOAL! Howard wins it at the back and plays it to Bertrand who is allowed to run through midfield and towards the box. He pushes it out to McAnuff on the right, who delivers a great cross for Sigurdsson to rise and head home! Reading lead after an excellent team move.

15 mins - This is great to watch. Tabb and Sigurdsson win the ball in midfield and the former slides a good pass to Kebe on the left. He crosses it into the box and Sigurdsson stoops to direct a header goalwards, but it doesn't have the power to trouble Gerken too much.

16 mins - It's more great stuff. Kebe's pacy run almost gets him in on goal. He checks back and stabs the ball to Sigurdsson who is crowded out. McAnuff finds him again though and he turns on the edge of the area and whistles a wonderful effort just wide of the bottom right corner.

21 mins - PENALTY! McAnuff feeds Sigurdsson inside the area and Hartley slides in and definitely trips Sigurdsson. The referee points straight to the spot - there are no arguments. Sigurdsson reassumes his spotkick duties and slams it past Gerken to make it 2-0 with a strike inside the left post.

28 mins - 'There's only one Shane Long' rings out as the striker stays onside and tries to wriggle free of Fontaine, but the ball bobbles away from him and behind for a goal kick.

30 mins - Bertrand wins a free kick just outside the box and Sigurdsson's set piece loops off the top of the wall. Mills is watching it drop at the far post but his nod back only finds Gerken who thankfully gathers.

35 mins - Mills clears Reading's lines and Long places a good header into space for Kebe to speed onto. His pace takes him into the box but wanting to check back onto his right foot he is challenged and dispossessed. A left-footed effort might have troubled Gerken there!

37 mins - Brian Howard's corner is cleared but Sigurdsson volleys it goalwards. It bounces up off the pitch and looks goalbound but Hartley nods it over his bar with a goalline clearance. That could have been the youngster's hat-trick!

39 mins - Campbell-Ryce is proving the sharpest thorn in Reading's side at the moment and he tries his luck from 25 yards. Federici has to be alert and down well to his left to push it around his post for a corner.

41 mins - McAnuff turns his man beautifully and with Long to his left, he chooses to shoot from 25 yards out. It skids wide of the left upright though.

42 mins - Sigurdsson is desperate for his treble here and Bertrand's cross isn't cleared well so Sigurdsson catches the loose ball near the byline. He tries a deft flick towards the near post but Gerken clears it against the Icelander and out for a goal kick.

45(+1) mins - Orr can't cope with McAnuff who has switched to the left for the dying stages of the half. He wins a free kick out there, which Sigurdsson whips in with real pace .Mills is markerless and six yards out but he can't keep hsi header down and is whistles over the crossbar.

HALF TIME - All Reading. All Reading. The Royals are making it look easy at the moment.

Double substitution up front for City. Danny Haynes and John Akinde come on for Iwelumo and Maynard.

52 mins - Reading in the ascendancy again. City fans muster a song but only receive ironic cheers from the home support.

56 mins - A dinked ball over the top finds Kebe in the middle. He chests it down but two City defenders launch themselves in his way and they hack it out for a corner.

57 mins - From a Reading corner, City break and the ball is played over the top for Campbell-Ryce who has pace to burn. Gunnarsson does brilliantly to keep up with him and slow him down but Federici has to race off his line to save well from the little livewire before pouncing on the loose ball.

58 mins - A well-worked free kick from Reading sees the ball run for Howard to strike from 22 yards. Gerken does well to parry it low to his left and Long tries to hook a bouncing ball goalwards but can only touch it over the crossbar.

63 mins - A great flick on from Long allows Kebe to run onto it and he bursts into the box just left of centre. Gerken narrows the angle and the winger's left-footed stab is charged down by the keeper.

69 mins - Great work from Gunnarsson and McAnuff wins a corner on the right, but this one eas easy for Gerken to gobble up. Reading could do with a third just to be sure of the points.

75 mins - Sigurdsson knocks it wide to Long, who drives past his man and into the box from the right. He cuts it across for Sigurdsson, who stops his run and tries to drag a right boot around it. But it bobbles calmly into Gerken's palms. Still no hat-trick.

76 mins - The home side have upped it a gear and Bertrand bombs down the left before timing a low cross into the six yard box to perfection. Long is arriving on it, but slightly behind him he can't flick it home from close range.

77 mins - McAnuff turns his man and scurries towards the box. He toes it to Kebe in space to his left and he shoots, but it doesn't pack enough of a punch to worry Gerken.

79 mins - Sigurdsson volleys speculatively from 30 yards out, but it sails over the crossbar. Is this third one going to come?

86 mins - Tabb bursts down the right flank and is found. He cuts the ball back beautifully for McAnuff, but the winger leans backwards and skies his first time effort.

88 mins - As Robins fans swarm out of the South Stand, Reading fans chant 'Is there a fire drill' at their counterparts!

89 mins - Royals sub: Shane Long is given a great reception as he makes way for Simon Church in the final minutes.

90 mins - Akinde has the ball in the net but it was a clear push on Mills that allowed him in on goal and the linesman flagger early. No complains from the towering striker.

FULL TIME - A very comfortbale win and three more points. Reading were a delight to watch again today. Relegation worries are very much eased.
