Community coach turns TV presenter tonight!

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

Community Coach and Prince's Trust Young Ambassador, Ray Harrison, had the chance to mingle with celebrities on the red carpet at The Prince's Trust 'Celebrate Success' Awards.

The ceremony, which was recently held at the Odeon in London's Leicester Square, recognised the achievements of young people who have overcome barriers after being involved with the UK's leading youth charity.

Ray was approached to be the presenter of a documentary about the event which will be aired on the Community Channel (Sky 539, Virgin TV 233, Freeview 87) tonight (Wednesday 16th March) at 8pm - so set your Sky Plus before you leave for tonight's game.

Before becoming a Community Coach, Ray was involved with The Trust by taking part in a number of their programmes.

"It was a fantastic opportunity for me to be asked to host this programme for The Prince's Trust," Ray explained.

"It was such a great experience and I enjoyed meeting some amazing people and hearing about their stories.

"It was also amazing to meet celebrities such as Andrew Cole, Gareth Southgate, Michael McIntyre and meeting Prince Charles was unbelievable and something I will never forget."

Ray was initially a participant on our Kickz project and after nearly two years of hard work by Ray, the Kickz project, Reading's Community Trust and their partners, he has now developed into a key member of the Community Trust's coaching team.

"We have provided Ray with numerous opportunities to further develop and Ray has taken them all, completing his FA coaching awards, Youth work training and his Duke of Edinburgh Award to name a few," added Reading's Social Inclusion Officer Gary Webb.

"Having the chance to interview amazing people and be the star of a TV documentary is testament to his hard work."
