Live updates
7:20pm - Andy Griffin has passed a fitness test and starts vs QPR tonight. Brynjar Gunnarsson drops to the bench and James Henry misses out. No changes to QPR's team.
7.59pm From a relatively balmy day in Berkshire it's transformed into a slightly chilly evening as we prepare for kick off here at Madejski Stadium. Both the teams have trotted out onto the turf and we're ready to begin.
8.01pm The Hoops (of QPR) have kicked off and are defending the goal that houses their own travelling fans in the first half.
8.03pm A delicate chip over the QPR back line sends Bertrand scampering down the wing, though he's somewhat harshley ajudged to have fouled his marker.
8.04pm Another break down the left and this time it results in a free-kick to McDermott's men. Sigurdsson swirls in the resulting set piece but it's well held at Ikeme - Long was ready to pounce on the rebound.
8.06pm Jimmy Kebe's name is ringing out around Madejski Stadium once more - let's hope the Malian magician is in hot form again tonight. Another free-kick to the Royals, this time Howard is over the ball 30 yards out.
8.07pm So close from Howard! He swings in a fiendish free-kick that just flies wide of Ikeme's post.
8.09pm Reading break away after a cleared Rangers corner and McAnuff flies down the right wing, turning Leigertwood inside out before poking in a through ball that just alludes Sigurdsson.
8.11pm Superb play by Ryan Bertrand who bursts a good 30 yards down the pitch and deep into the heart of the QPR defence before squaring to Long. Somehow the away side scramble it away.
8.13pm First sign of danger from Neil Warnock's side as Simpon sends a fizzing cross-come-shot across the six yard box. Nobody is there to convert, thankfully.
8.16pm The dangerous Adel Taarabt finds an inch of room on the edge of the box and swlams in a low drive. Well held be Federici.
8.18pm Great save by Federici again as Kaspars Gorkss heads towards goal from a corner. The rebound pinballs around in the box and is somehow sliced over the top from close range. QPR are finding their feet.
8.20pm Sigurdsson comes close - with his rear end! The Icelander chases down an underhit backpass and Ikeme slams his clearance against the midfielder. Luckily for the keeper it flies back over his own bar.
8.24pm A couple of narrow offisde decisions against Kebe. Both times he was away down the flank but halted by the official's flag.
8.25pm Taraabt lefts fly once more but this time it's over the top. He has a dangerous shot on him that lad.
8.26pm Best chance of the game. Taraabt is again at the heart of it, brilliantly putting through Jay Simpson. The Arsenal man is in on goal but bravely denied by Federici, who dives at his feet to stop the shot.
8.30pm The game has calmed down a little bit now, after a slightly frantic opening twenty minutes. QPR have a corner though after a slightly fortunate deflection takes the ball behind. The resulting set piece is headed over - never really looked a danger.
8.34pm Rangers' Damion Stewart is booked after an innocuous looking challenge in front of the West Stand. Lets hope Kebe can test him now for the rest of the game.
8.38pm This game has turned niggly. There are fouls all over the place, the latest as McAnuff is sent to the floor after trying to spin his man on the right wing.
8.42pm Again Kebe is almost away. He shows astonishing pace to get past Matthew Connolly on the break, but has to check back and is hounded out of it by the centre halves.
8.45pm That could be a game changer!! Told you it was niggly - the already booked Stewart sticks the boot in on Federici as the Royals keeper tries to clear, and that's enough for his second booking. Red card - the third dismissal between these two sides this season.
HALF TIME
9.06pm We're back underway - it will be interesting to see how QPR approach this second half. Neil Warnock was his usual, reserved self at the break of course. A quiet word with the referee as he strolle down the tunnel.
9.08pm Rangers are sitting back and the Royals can't quite get hold of the ball in the early exchanges. This will require patience I think.
9.09pm Lovely reverse pass from Sigurdsson sends Kebe sprinting to the left side of the box, he sneaks a shot through the legs of his marker but it's held at the second attempt by Ikeme.
9.10pm Great strike play by Long. The Irish international shows terrific strength to win the ball in the air before turning and scuttling to the wing. There he skips back into the box and rasps a spinning drive narrowly over.
9.13pm Again a pass inside, this time from Tabb, comes close to sending a Royal free in the box - but this time it's cut out at the last minute.
9.17pm This is a similar feeling to the second half against Derby. Except we're not 2-1 up, and Robbie Savage isn't in goal. Apart from that it's identical.
9.17pm Bertrand does superbly to get to the byline and clip a ball right across the six yard box, but somehow no Royal boot connects with the centre.
9.20pm QPR come close there. Federici can only palm away a bouncing shot from the edge of the box and Simpson pounces on the rebound, though skies over from a tight angle.
9.21pm A change for the Royals. Gzregorz Rasiak replaces Brian Howard.
9.25pm This game is still niggly and quite uneventful. Silly fouls and sliced clearances galore. There's been more throw ins than anything else.
9.27pm Second substitution for the Royals. Shane Long is off and ten-goal man Simon Church is on.
9.30pm Still Rangers are resolute and Reading are struggling to think of ways to break down the ten men in front of them. Matt Mills sends a searching 30 yard cross field ball straight out of play.
9.32pm Quick thinking by Sigurdsson to take a quick free kick and find Bertrand who is in miles of room on the left. The full back's cross is just put out for a corner.
9.35pm Another scrappy foul and another booking, this time as Mikele Leigertwood shows dissent to the referees decision.
9.36pm Rasiak's flick on in the area causes panic in the Rangers defence. The ball eventually falls to Sigurdsson who slams a shot just over.
9.39pm I don't believe that's stayed out. Sigurdsson slides Kebe down the wing who breaks well into the box, his cross is deflected and almost falls perfectly to Rasiak but the frontman stumbles. It eventually rolls to McAnuff who rasps a shot in on goal, it looks destined for the net but is headed off the line brilliantly.
9.41pm Further defensive tactics from QPR as playmaker Taarabt makes way for defender Peter Ramage.
9.43pm Reading are absolutely camped in the Rangers half here. Rasiak wins a corner after good play from Bertrand.
9.44pm PENALTY!!! Top class play by Sigurdsson, he dances into the box past two QPR players without an inch of room before being brought down. He'll also step up to take the spot kick for his 13th of the season...
9.45pm GOALL!! Gylfi keeps his cool and emphatically slams home!!! He deserves that for such wizardry in the first place.
9.47pm Now Rangers are thinking offensively. Forward Antonio German is on for Tamas Priskin.
9.49pm We should have made it two. A blistering counter catches out the away side and it's four against two, but McAnuff's crossfield ball slows up play and Kebe loops a shot way over.
9.51pm Rasiak goes down in teh area, looks another strong penalty shout but the referee gives it hte other way - and books the Pole! Four minutes of time added on.
9.53pm A swift counter once more, this time McAnuff dashes a good 40 yards into the area - but sees his toe poked shot well denied by Ikeme.
FULL TIME!
