The Royals are delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Taylor as their new Academy Executive.
Tony has been appointed to aid the management with the logistical running of the Academy, and will have a wide brief encompassing both the footballing and business side of the department. He has vast experience within the game from spending time at Aldershot FC and also honed his business skills as a divisional director with global banking leaders Banque Nationale de Paris Paribas.
Academy Manager Eamonn Dolan said: "We are delighted to welcome Tony on board. When he decided to leave Aldershot after ten years' worth of service there were a clutch of clubs that were very keen to get him, but after spending some time at the club and meeting Nigel Howe, Tony felt that he would like to help our Academy.
"Tony's record at Aldershot speaks for itself and the fine youth programme that is now in place reflects this. Our Academy wants to continue to march forward so I believe we need to be innovative and proactive and the appointment of Tony reflects this."
Tony admitted that is relishing a new challenge at Madejski Stadium, saying, "After ten great years at Aldershot the time was right to move on to a fresh challenge and after meeting key personnel within the club it was very apparent to me that the Reading FC Academy will provide me with the environment within which I can make a difference.
"We will be looking to continue to bring players through and I hope to also bring some business knowledge to the department."
