Reading's women travelled to Wivenhoe Town FC to take on Colchester on Sunday and came away with a 3-0 victory that keeps a promotion dream very much alive.
Frank Rodriguez's girls dominated throughout and went in 1-0 at the interval thanks to a first half finish from Natasha Caswell.
The second half was no different, with the visitors bossing their hosts all over the pitch. And with Reading well on top and playing some very attractive football, the impressive Melissa Fletcher scored a superb second, cutting inside her marker before hammering the ball into the far corner for 2-0.
Alison Hogg added a third soon after and three points kept Reading level on points with second-placed West Ham, with a game in hand over their rivals.
Then on Tuesday night, the high-flying women played that game in hand at home to Fulham.
Skipper Kelly Chambers and Emma-Jayne Pearmine put Reading into a commanding lead with goals stemming from corner kicks.
And the free-scoring Caswell added a decisive third from the penalty spot to record the Royals' second 3-0 victory in three days.
That win places Reading in a promotion place, three points clear of Keynsham who dropped to third. Both teams have two games remaining this season - but the last of those games sees the Royals travel to Keynsham in what could be a 'winner takes all' climax to the campaign.
Sunday sees Rodriguez's women take on West Ham away - a side who beat us 3-1 when they visited back in September. But a win could see the Royals secure an historic promotion to the top flight should Keynsham drop points against fourth-placed Portsmouth!
