Striker Kevin Doyle has been named the official Reading FC player of the season for 2005/6.

The 22 year-old has had an amazing debut season in English football, and he took first place in our poll, in association with Foster's and the Reading Chronicle.

Glen Little was second, with Bobby Convey third.

Kevin picked up his award before the game with QPR, and Chairman John Madejski also picked up an award from STAR to recognise the whole team's achievements this season.

Doyle was this week named the PFA fans' Championship player of the season, while he also won the FAI under 21 player of 2005 award.

Last weekend Kevin was named in the PFA Championship team of the season, along with Marcus Hahnemann, Nicky Shorey, Ibrahima Sonko and Steve Sidwell.

Long-standing Club photographer John Hawken was given a special award before the QPR game to mark his retirement.
