Czech Republic international midfielder who joined the Royals in January 2008 for an undisclosed fee from Mlada Boleslav. He signed a deal until the summer of 2011.
Reading manager Steve Coppell had been tracking Marek for around a year, and he quickly showed he was a top quality player, scoring our goal of the season away to Liverpool at Anfield.
Prior to his move to Reading, Marek had six full Czech international caps to his name, and scored his first senior goal against Germany in October 2007.
He was part of the Czech's Euro 2008 squad but was sadly injured as they went out at the group stage.
