Icelandic international midfielder who signed from Watford for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2005 and played a key role in the remarkable march to promotion.
Brynjar initially moved to English football with Stoke City, where he first caught Steve Coppell's eye, and also had a spell at Nottingham Forest.
A tough-tackling performer who also keeps possession well, Brynjar weighed in with his fair share of goals including both in a dramatic 2-1 home victory over title contenders Sheffield United.
Scored a memorable late equaliser at Old Trafford in an FA Cup encounter with Manchester United, and was inches away from doing the same in the replay when his volley hit the bar.
Injuries blighted him in the 2007/8 relegation season, with a calf problem meaning he did not play from January onwards.
