Cracking goal in under 18s win

Posted on: Tue 18 Sep 2007

Our under 18s earned a 2-1 home victory over Millwall on Saturday.

Our Icelandic frontman Viktor Illugason opened the scoring on 23 minutes, lashing home a real cracker left-footed from just outside the box.

Millwall struck back quickly though; Sam Higgins firing home a long-range dipper.

On the half hour, Reading got what proved to be the winner, centre back Patrick Cox [pictured] nodding his second of the season from Gylfi Sigurdsson's free kick.

Kelvin Bossman played an hour on his first game since returning from the under 17s World Cup with fourth-placed Ghana.

Tom Piotrowski played the final 30 minutes, his second match in 18 months after coming on against Southampton last week.

Video highlights from Academy games, including this victory, are live on Reading World now.
