Under 18s keep pressure on with win

Posted on: Mon 15 Oct 2007

Eamon Dolan's under 18s kept up the pressure on league leaders Aston Villa with a 2-0 win over MK Dons at the weekend.

The Milton Keynes outfit had only won one of their previous eight Premier League Academy Group B fixtures before a visit to Hogwood Park and Eamonn Dolan's side made no mistake in clinching three more points at home.

Skipper Tom Hateley put Reading into a 5th minute lead and less than a quarter of an hour later Patrick Cox had doubled the advantage to put the result beyond doubt.

Reading: McCarthy, Spence, Kelly, Mitchell, Cox, Bayley, Frewen (Downes), Webb, Hateley, Bignall (Kamdjo), Bossman (Bryant).

The Royals now face a trip to Tyn y Wern Playing Fields this weekend where second-from-bottom Cardiff City lie in wait.
