Walcott scores for England

Posted on: Thu 30 Oct 2008

Reading youngster Jacob Walcott scored an important goal for England's u17s against Spain as they progressed through to the Elite Qualifying Round of the UEFA Championship.

England played three games in the space of a week in Tenerife, culminating in a 1-1 draw with Spain, in which Jacob notched after ten minutes.

England had two men sent off, and conceded a last-minute own goal. Walcott had been replaced by Spurs' John Bostock four minutes earlier.

In the first game, Jacob played the final 12 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Armenia, and then the last 25 minutes in a thumping 7-0 win over Estonia.
