Under 18s win for Stewart

Posted on: Mon 24 Nov 2008

The Reading under 18s defeated Birmingham City 2-1 at Hogwood Park on Saturday morning, and the victory has been dedicated to late Stewart McEwan.

The players wore black armbands, as did our 16s, and held a minute's silence before kick off.

Irish youth international winger Gary Frewen put us ahead in the first half with a good goal from just outside the area, and City levelled but Frewen scored once again.

Manager Eamonn Dolan dedicated the win to 13-year-old Stewart, who passed away a week ago.

Reading: Locke; Joyce, Seymour, Cox, Kamdjo; Goddard, Raymond (O Kelly 65), Walcott, Frewen; Bossman, Vasilev (Arnold 75)
Subs: Pritchard, Taylor, White
