Reading FC Academy player Josh Shama picked up a very prestigious award when named the British Asian Junior Sports Personality Of The Year this weekend.
14-year-old Josh was crowned at a lavish Grosvenor Hotel ceremony, rubbing shoulders with Olympian Denise Lewis and Keith Vaz MP before his acceptance speech.
Josh was keen to convey his thanks to our Academy, in particular Eamonn Dolan, Geoff Warner, Geoff Taylor, Nas Bashir, Jon Gargen & Claire Roberts.
In addition he was very grateful to all connected with Reading FC who voted for him and enabled him to take home this trophy.

Josh is a striker who plays for our under 14s team, and has been with the club since the age of 11.
Josh's name was put forward for this award by a coach from another club, having seen him in action and then recommending him to the British Asian Sports Award committee.
The event is now in its eighth year and was shown on Sony TV Asia, which is available on Sky.
