Academy maintain unbeaten start

Posted on: Mon 19 Sep 2011
The Royals Academy are still unbeaten in the 2011/12 campaign, after they played out a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town this past weekend.

Dominic Samuel made it four goals in his opening four games by opening the scoring with 20 minutes on the clock, dashing onto a threaded pass before eventually bundling home past Town 'keeper Connor O'Donnell.

The Tractor Boys levelled just before half time; Reading goalie Jonathan Henly did well to initially block Jon Leddy's effort, but Carel Tiofack followed up to even the scoring.

With twenty minutes left on the clock it looked as though Shepherd Murombedzi had won it for the Royals as he lobbed home a wonderfully executed chip, but Jide Maduakos late header snatched a draw for the visitors.

Reading: Henly, Carr, Griffin, Webb, Keown, Partridge, Murombedzi, Tshibola, Samuel, Shama, Murphy
Subs: Amofah, Moore, Jenkinson, Ikpeazu, Oliyide
