Royal Families pass £50,000 mark

Posted on: Mon 12 Nov 2007

The Royal Families raised £13,000 at Friday night evening's Race Night, taking their tally for the current season to more than £50,000.

Nearly 400 partygoers attended Friday's sold-out event at Madejski Stadium's Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, with the fun lasting well beyond midnight.

The event was put together by our players' wives and girlfriends, with Emily Shorey and Olga Gunnarsson taking the role as chief organisers this season.

Our game against Arsenal being moved to Monday night meant that players were also able to attend, with Graeme Murty, Nicky Shorey, Ivar Ingimarsson, Marcus Hahnemann and Brynjar Gunnarsson among those who came along.

The evening also contained a special auction, with the most successful being the chance to 'be Chairman for the day' alongside John Madejski at the home game against Aston Villa, which raised £1,200 after Ray McMurray's winning bid.

The Royal Families would like to thank everybody who came along and supported the evening.

Tickets are now on sale for the next Royal Families event - a Christmas party at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday 11th December. You can get more information and download a booking form here.
