Young journalist competion
Are you a Young Royal and have you ever wanted to be a reporter? This is your chance to write about a Reading FC home game and win an amazing prize.
The Royals have teamed up with The Football League for a nationwide competition to find the country's best Junior Match Reporter.
The winning Young Royals Reporter will be selected from all entries by Reading FC's media team and their report will feature on readingfc.co.uk.
Plus, the winner will receive a signed matchday programme, an official certificate and goody bag from the Football League with a link on the Football League website to the winning match report.
Reading FC's winning entry will then go forward to national judging for the chance to win a VIP media day out at Wembley for the Young Royals winners with up to 3 family members at the 2008/9 Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off Final.
The winner will also be asked to write a report of the day to feature on www.football-league.co.uk
To win this fantastic prize, all you need to do is write your report for one of the following Reading home games:
Reading v Ipswich Town, Saturday 14th March
Reading v Sheffield United, Good Friday 10th April
Reading v Barnsley, Saturday 18th April
To help you write your report, here are five top tips from the Royals' Programme Editor Mark Bradley:
1) Your aim is to describe the match to someone who hasn't seen it - so explain how each goal went in and how the best saves were made.
2) But besides the facts, give your opinion. Which players played well and which team deserved to win?
3) Try to explain how you and the rest of the fans felt whilst watching the match. Re-live the match while writing about it!
4) Make sure you get your statistics right - you don't want to get the score wrong or give a goal to the wrong player.
5) Read it through once you've finished. Check for spelling mistakes!
Send your report with your full name, age, customer number (if an existing Member Card holder), telephone number and postcode to youngroyals@readingfc.co.uk or post to Young Royals Reporter Competition, Marketing Department, Reading FC, Madejski Stadium, Reading RG2 0FL before Wednesday 22nd April 2009. See Competition Rules for full terms and conditions
