A vastly experienced centre forward, with more than £7 million worth of transfer fees being spent on him throughout a career that saw him bag 157 goals before arriving at Madejski Stadium in January 2012.

Raised in a fine footballing family, Jason's uncles Cyrille Regis, David Regis and Otis Roberts all forged a living in the game - whilst another relative, John Regis, was a former Olympic sprinter. Started his own time in the game with non-league Hayes, scoring prolifically for the club before earning a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A frustrating time at Molineux followed, but a subsequent switch to Bristol Rovers was a huge success. Roberts bagged 38 goals in 78 games in his time with the Pirates, before equally successful spells with West Brom and Wigan.

Spent six years with Blackburn Rovers in the top-flight before opting to switch to the Royals in January 2012, and made an incredible impact straight away.

The powerful striker bagged six goals for the Royals and was a pivotal figure on and off the field as the club raced to the 2011/12 npower Championship title.
