From Conference Premier to Championship football, Andy Yiadom worked his way up the footballing ladder to become a staple in the Royals’ starting eleven in only his first season in RG2.
The defender began his career with Hayes & Yeading before joining fellow Conference side Braintree United where he scored seven times by January 2012.
He was signed by League Two’s Barnet at the end of that month and made seven appearances to end that season with a debut goal against Port Vale in March.
He occupied the right-wing and right-back births at the London club for four years before making the switch to the Championship with Barnsley in May 2016.
Yiadom was an important part of the defensive setup at Oakwell and helped the Tykes to retain their Championship status in his first season with the club.
He was also rewarded with a maiden call-up to the Ghana national side where he made his debut on the world stage in the African Cup of Nations against Egypt and Burkina Faso.
Captain at Oakwell for the 2017-18 season, Yiadom left the Yorkshire club to join Reading for the start of the new Championship season.
An ever-present in the side, he played 48 games and scored against Hull where such performances rightfully crowned Yiadom as runner-up for the fans’ Player of the Season award.
