On loan from Chelsea, Matt Miazga joined the Royals for the second half of the 2018-19 season and for the most part, played as a centre-back pairing to Liam Moore.
He started his carer in America with New York Red Bulls, making his debut at the age of 18 against Houston Dynamo.
A standout year in 2015 sort lots of interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, and subsequently Miazga left the USA to join Chelsea in January 2016.
The defender made his debut for the Blues against Aston Villa before spending the duration on the following two seasons on loan to Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.
Miazga played in every match of a successful Cup campaign where alongside fellow Chelsea loanne Lewis Baker, they beat AZ Alkmaar in the final to lift the trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
Another season was spent in the Netherlands before joining FC Nantes on loan in August 2018.
The following January MIazga spent the second half of the season at Reading where he made 18 starts in the heart of defence for Jose Gomes’ side.
