Orlando Sa

Date of birth

Starting his career with the youth ranks at S.C Braga, Sa progressed into their first team for the 2007/08 season only to be loaned out to Maria Fonte in the Portuguese third division.

He made his Primeira Liga debut for Braga on his return in 2009 before a move to league champions Porto later that summer.

Due to injury complications Sa never really got the ball rolling and a move to England was soon to follow in the 2011 transfer window. Signing for the Cottagers on a free, he made his debut at Stamford Bridge in a Carling Cup tie with Andre Villas-Boas’ Chelsea. He scored his first goal for Fulham on New Year’s Eve away to Norwich, the only one during his time at Craven Cottage.

Moves abroad to AEL Limassol and then Legia Warsaw followed where in 2012/13 and 13/14 Sa won the Ekstraklasa and Polish Cup respectively.

Having notched 14 goals in 19(+14) league appearances for Warsaw, Steve Clarke brought the Portuguese striker to Reading on a three-year deal where he made his debut on the opening league game of the season away to Birmingham City.

Sa made his Madejski Stadium debut in our opening home fixture with Leeds, and then three weeks later he notched a hat-trick as part of five scored past Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town.
