Sam Walker

Date of birth

On the books with Millwall as a youth player, Walker would later sign for Chelsea at the age of 15 where he would continue to grow into the game.

He was an integral part of the Chelsea side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2009-10, conceding just three goas throughout the whole competition.

Progressing through the ranks he made his Football League professional debut on loan with Barnet in 2011, one of seven appearances for the Bees that season.

Northampton and Yeovil are where Walker played his football on loan for the duration of the 2011-12 season. He aided the Glovers in their escape from the drop with 20 appearances in goal that campaign.

He caught the eye of management at Colchester in the summer of 2014 after two successful loan spells the previous seasons.

After arriving as a U’s player on a full-time basis, he was a regular in the first team for three seasons at the JobServe Stadium.

Over 200 games as a Colchester player came to an end when he signed for Reading in July 2018. A Royals debut in between the posts against Birmingham was the first of nine appearances that season.
