Aaron Tshibola

Date of birth

Tshibola is one of our talented Academy products, who’s a skilful and composed presence in the centre of midfield. Aaron signed his first professional deal with the club in March 2011 at the age of 16, and agreed to stay at Madejski Stadium until the summer of 2014.

He attracted interest from Manchester United towards the end of the 2011/12 season, and played for the Red Devils as a 'guest player' alongside fellow Royals Academy graduate Jake Cooper in a tournament in Amsterdam.

Though still a second year scholar at Reading, 'Tish' shone for U21s during the 2012/13 season and continued to impress in Martin Kuhl's side in 2014/15, helping them clinch the first ever Premier League Cup in April.

Tshibola was named on the first team bench for the first time in 2013/14 in away games at Derby County, Brighton and Leeds, and frequently travelled with Nigel Adkins' squad for fixtures on the road.

The young prospect agreed a new two-year deal at Reading in June 2014 and in January 2015 was sent out on Loan to Hartlepool. He made 24 appearances in the second half of the season and played an important role in helping the Pools escape relegation from League Two.

On his return to Reading he debuted in the opening league fixture of the season at Birmingham, and then made his Madejski Stadium introduction as a substitute against Leeds the following August; becoming the club's 200th player to grace the turf of the Mad Stad in its 17 year history.
