An Iranian international midfielder, Ezatolahi cultured his football in his native Iran with Malavan’s Youth Academy.
He debuted for the first team in 2012 and became the Iran Pro League’s youngest ever player at the age of 16.
Earning plenty of accolades throughout his time with Malavan, he became the youngest ever goal scorer in the history of the Iran National Team at the age of 19 years and 42 days when he scored in a 3-1 win against Turkmenistan in November 2015.
He signed a one-year contract with Atletico Madrid in 2014 before joining Russian premier League side Rostov the following summer.
In 2016-17 he made his Champions League debut and scored against Anderlecht making him the youngest Iranian player to notch in the competition.
He joined Reading on loan in August 2018 and made his debut against Hull before unfortunately suffering a season-ending injury having only made four appearances as a Royal.
