Jón Daði Böðvarsson
Date of birth
A tall, hard-working striker, Iceland international forward Jón Daði Böðvarsson joined the Royals from Championship rivals, Wolves, in the summer of 2017.
The popular Icelander started his career at hometown club, Selfoss, before making a move to Norway to play for Viking in the Norwegian top flight.
Known for his physical presence, deceptively quick pace and tireless work-rate, Böðvarsson has racked up his tally of international appearances along with his club career, appearing for Iceland in their famous run at Euro 2016, starting in their 2-1 victory against England in the knockout stages.
He quickly announced himself as a fans' favourite at Madejski Stadium by chipping in with 10 goals in all competitions in his debut season. A hat-trick against Stevenage in the FA Cup and a vital brace against Burton Albion spring to mind as important interventions for the Royals, as well as a late equaliser against Hull City in September 2017.
