Chadwick, born in Cambridge, began his career as a youth with the red side of Manchester. A loan move to Royal Antwerp in 1999 gave him an initial taste of first team football.
He moved back to Manchester to make 33 appearances before seeking another loan move come February 2003.
The flairy Manchester United youngster arrived at Reading on loan and he took no time to make his Madejski Stadium mark – the tricky winger scored only 13 minutes into his Royals career, grabbing the first in our 2-1 win over Gillingham in February that year.
Chadwick, who had already scored Premier League goals for United against Bradford and Leeds, stayed with Reading until the end of the season, helping Alan Pardew’s side reach a two-legged Play-off semi-final against Wolves at the end of that campaign.
But without securing promotion, he spent the next season at Burnley before leaving Old Trafford to sign permanently for West Ham in 2004/05.
Short periods at Stoke City and then Norwich followed before the Cambridge-born midfielder settled at MK Dons, for whom he made more than 200 appearances.
In March 2014, Chadwick joined his hometown club Cambridge United on loan, making the deal permanent just three months later. He played against his debut club Manchester United in the FA Cup, losing out 3-0 in a replay.
