Though the Madejski Stadium is undoubtedly the home of Reading Football Club - its heartbeat is down at Hogwood Park, our training ground.
Always an upbeat and lively atmosphere around the place, the first-team players train at Hogwood each day - that's where the hard work is done in preparation to bring it to Madejski Stadium for our supporters' enjoyment on matchdays!
Originally rented from the army, the Royals moved in to the Hogwood Park location in the summer of 2009 - thanks to the initiative and support of Sir John Madejski - and remain at the venue to this day.
To begin with, the training ground was basic, but has since been expanded and refurbished several times.
The venue boasts training facilities throughout the club from the Under-9s to Under-23s. The Under-16s and Under-18s both play their home fixtures at Hogwood, and a number of Under-23 fixtures and friendly fixtures take place here. All matches at Hogwood Park are behind closed doors, and not available to the public.
With a gymnasium, admin offices and pitches of all sizes, the training ground is certainly all-encompassing and caters for all necessary requirements.
Scholars' classrooms, analysis rooms and a media room have also been implemented to further the venue's improvement.
