After putting themselves on the cusp of Championship safety on Easter Monday, the message to the Royals this week has been to simply get over the line this weekend.
Promotion-chasing Middlesbrough await this weekend, rounding off an April fixture list that has seen the Royals take on five teams that had harboured ambitions of playing Premier League football next season.
Boro are battling for the final place in the Play-Offs as it stands, level on points with sixth-placed Derby County and just one point in front of Bristol City.
Tony Pulis' side boast the joint-tightest defence in the Championship this season, along with Sheffield United they have conceded just 39 times in 44 matches. Goals have been an issue up the other end for Saturday's hosts, however, with Boro scoring three fewer times than the Royals - despite the 13-place gap in league positions.
On the injury front for Reading, José Gomes confirmed that Nélson Oliveira, Yakou Méïté, Tyler Blackett and John Swift are all going to miss the remainder of the campaign through their own injuries.
With Oliveira's absence, there may be an opportunity for Saeid Ezatolahi to make his long-awaited return to the squad, with the loanee having missed most of the season through injury. With a maximum of five loan players permitted in a matchday squad, the Iranian has had to bide his time since returning to fitness - with the form of our other temporary signings warranting their place in the line-up.
Reading travel to face a Boro side that need a victory to keep up their hopes of a chance of promotion, while the Royals want to secure safety in the Championship for another season. It's not a game to be missed this weekend.
Tickets will be available to buy on the day at the Riverside Stadium, cash only and available from the visitors' ticket office from 1pm.
