Reading U23s were held at home in the Premier League 2 by Wolves, with a 0-0 draw at Madejski Stadium on Monday night.
- Rollinson goes close for the Royals in the first half
- Holsgrove free-kick from 30 yards edges past the post
- Frost has shot saved in the second half
- Neither side able to break the deadlock
- Rinomhota gets 45 minutes after lengthy injury absence
Reading settled straight into their rhythm at Madejski Stadium, putting pressure on the visitors when out of possession and controlling the tempo in the early stages.
A defensive mix-up almost gave the Royals the lead five minutes in, Jordan Holsgrove lifting a pass into the path of Danny Loader in the box, centre-back Ben Goodliffe scuffed his clearance but goalkeeper Jon Flatt was there to gather.
Loader was then body-checked 30 yards out and the Royals were given a free-kick. It was on the edge of shooting range for Holsgrove, who shot over the wall with the goalkeeper stranded, but his effort went just past the upright.
This was followed almost immediately by Loader winning the ball on the left flank, cutting inside and getting the better of his marker to shoot, but it wasn't troubling the net as it drifted wide.
George Legg had to be on his toes in the Reading goal, though, being alert to sprint off his line to beat Benny Ashley-Seal to a through-ball in his area, diving at the striker's feet to clear the danger.
The visitors grew into the game as it progressed, the Royals' defence standing up to the test through a deep cross that was brilliantly won by Tom Holmes to stop the incoming gold shirt at the back post.
Rinomhota was the catalyst behind the Royals' best chance of the half, winning the ball in midfield before flying forward, evading two tackles and deftly playing into the path of Joel Rollinson, whose rifled effort was bound for the roof of the net but for Flatt's glove-work.
Up the other end, the Royals had the offside flag to thank for staying level, a Breslin cross finding Ashley-Seal to prod home, but he was flagged in the build-up and the goal was ruled out.
Scott Marshall's side almost took the lead themselves in added time in the first period, Ryan East's free-kick finding Rollinson once more, but his header flew off target from close range, and the teams went in goalless at the break.

The second period was more of a slow burner, the teams cancelling each other out where possible and chances were at a premium heading towards the hour mark.
Substitute Teddy Howe found space on the right and started an attack for the Royals, only to over-hit his cross and the move eventually broke down.
The ball then broke in midfield and Loader did well to put his back to his challenger and muscle his way into space, spotting the run of Tyler Frost in space.
Frost set himself, shot with the outside of his boot and Flatt got a glove to it to parry away and keep the scores level.
Both goalkeepers had precious little to do for the majority of the second half, the two teams going hammer-and-tongs in midfield to establish dominance on the game.
The Royals take a point from the game, though, and extend their unbeaten run in the league to five matches.
