Brian's wait is over!

Boss ready for Palace

Royals boss Brian McDermott is ready for home comforts when we take on Crystal Palace at Madejski Stadium this Saturday.

It has been almost four months since we played a home game, and the manager is very much looking forward to the match, followed by the start of the Barclays Premier League seven days later.

He said, "We've not been at home for a long time, the last game was Crystal Palace in the League of course so we're looking forward to going back. And then the first game with Stoke as well.

"Pre-season training has been great. Over time we've never done brilliantly in friendlies results-wise but the most relevant is Stoke, we'll be ready, a big crowd in the Barclays Premier League and we can't wait to get going.

"There's still time, we're not quite where we'd want to be but you don't expect that, we will get stronger as the season goes on because we generally do that."

Tickets for the game are cheaper when bought in advance - only £5 concessions and £10 adults. Go to www.readingfcdirect.co.uk, call 0844 249 1871 or visit the Ticket Office in person. A full travel update is available here.
