In a new feature on readingfc.co.uk – we look back at what was happening at the club on this week throughout the ages…
Skipper Johnny Walker, followed by goalkeeper Meeson, leads out the Reading team for a League Cup game at Lincoln City on 9th December 1961. The Biscuitmen would run out 2-0 winners. The inspirational Walker played 287 league matches for the club between 1957 and 1965.

Federici remains with Royals
Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici will again train with the Royals for this, a third consecutive week, whilst the Academy has eight international triallists, as well as two boys who are leaving Southampton.
Dane Mikkel Andersen (u16s goalkeeper), Swedes Alex & Janick Manzizila (u16s forwards) and Chris Tello (under 15s forward), Icelanders Brynjar Bjarnason (under 17s forward) and Gylfi Sigurdsson (under 15s midfielder) and Aussie Michael Sheppard (u16s midfielder) join ex-Saints Karl Yelland (u16s defender) and Liam Crook (u16s winger) are in training with our Academy.
