Injury Update

Pogrebnyak a doubt for Southampton

Royals manager Brian McDermott revealed that Pavel Pogrebnyak is a doubt for Saturday after picking up a knock earlier this week.

Brian told the assembled press at Hogwood Park this morning that the striker picked up a slight injury in Tuesday's friendly match at Madejski Stadium - but Danny Guthrie is in line to return.

The midfielder hasn't featured for Reading since our trip to Liverpool in October - but, after getting minutes under his belt in the practice game, Guthrie is in line for a return.

"Pavel Pogrebnyak has picked up a bit of the knock in the friendly on Tuesday so I'm not sure if he'll be available," McDermott told the assembled press at Hogwood Park.

"Danny Guthrie played 45 minutes in that game and should be available, despite taking a knock to his shin on Tuesday. Jem Karacan is training a little bit more now which is good, but I don't think Jimmy Kebe will be available for the weekend."
