Tabby tops distance charts for second time
Royals midfielder Jay Tabb clocked up more miles this weekend than any other Premier League player – for the second time this season!
Reading’s tenacious number 16 covered 7.33 miles against Manchester United, just weeks after topping the charts for the first time during our 2-1 win over Everton.
The popular 28-year-old was closely followed by his midfield partner Mikele Leigertwood, who scampered over 6.96 miles in the narrow defeat to the Red Devils.
Wayne Rooney topped the distance charts for the visitors – also clocking up 6.96 miles.
The Royals’ Head of Sport Science, Karl Halabi – had previously paid tribute to the squad’s supreme fitness levels.
“From a fitness point of view I work really closely with a fantastic coach, physio and manager and we're very pleased,” he said.
“It's not solely down to one person - you've got to give credit to the players because they're working their socks off in every game. They try to out work their opponent in any way they can."
