Toures wary of Royals

21 December 2012

Kolo and Yaya identify Reading threat

Manchester City brothers Kolo and Yaya Toure both feel that the Royals will make life difficult for the Barclays Premier League Champions on Saturday.

The Ivory Coast pair, who will miss a chunk of the season in January because of the Africa Cup of Nations, have warned their team mates that they will have to be on their guard as Reading travel north to the Etihad Stadium.

"Reading are a team that we need to take seriously," Kolo insisted. "They lost against Arsenal on Monday but we can see that they can score goals and I think going forward they are really good."

His sibling Yaya, who was recently named 2012 African Player of the Year, echoed the defender's sentiments and noted the Royals' excellent travelling support.

"I've seen a lot of Reading and I know they are a good side," Yaya said. "There really are no easy games – and people don't realise that even the sides that maybe near the bottom are more than capable of making life difficult.

"They will fight and bring good support and will keep going to the end – they looked dead and buried against Arsenal on Monday when they were 4-0 down, but they still scored twice late on to make a game of it."
