Gunter scan news

Adam Federici will sit out one more game in Portugal.

The Australian internation is working exceptionally hard in training, but has not played in any of our three first team friendlies this summer.

Manager Brian McDermott expained to Sky Sports News, "We're just resting him, he's played a lot over the last couple of years and when we get back to England he will be back."

The boss was also asked re: Chris Gunter's ankle injury and said, "He's had the scan and is fine, he's got a sprained ankle so will be a week or so [before any training], maybe more.

"It's a bit disappointing for him, he's been training well."

Finally the boss confirmed he will give a group of players more game time in our final Portugal friendly tonight.

"We'll do a 60/30 to give players more minutes. What matters is doing that and getting fitness, being right for the first game with Stoke."
