How you could be scouted from our Football Courses

The Reading FC Community Trust puts a large focus on Sports Participation - with a structure in place to allow youngsters of all abilities to progress to their natural level. This includes:

After School Clubs - One hour sessions over a ten week period developing the fundamental skills of the game - passing, shooting, turning, defending and small sided games. Sessions are delivered directly after school and normally run from 3.30pm - 4.30pm.

Soccer Schools - Course that take place over a period of one to five days, lasting for 5 hours a day. They begin with warm up games, technical practice and finish with small sided games. Members of the Reading FC first team squad often pay special visits.

Development Centres - Children who show ability during any of the above will get invited to the Development Centres. Here they will receive more intense coaching with the emphasis on technical practices.

Advanced Centres - Children who excel from the Development centres will be invited to the advanced centres - they will have the opportunity of training twice a week with more talented children.

Elite Centres - These centres are for children who will excel at the Advanced Centres or who have been scouted from their club teams. They are the stepping block into the Academy - and Academy staff will take the coaching sessions

All the centres are for boys aged between five and sixteen. After school clubs are for junior schools between the age five and eleven and soccer schools are aimed at boys and girls between the ages of six and fourteen. Girls only advanced and development centres are also available.
