'An angry reaction'

24 November 2012

Royals midfielder pulls no punches

Mikele Leigertwood revealed that everyone in the dressing room - players and staff - was angry with themselves following a late defeat to Wigan Athletic.

The Reading midfielder was one of a string of players to hold his hands up when quizzed by the media after the clash.

"The manager reacted angrily and it was definitely justified. We were all angry with ourselves," he told Reading FC Player.

"We need to learn. We've gone ahead numerous times this season and we need to get the desired result. We approach all games in the same way; we want to play fast, attacking football and we are creating chances, but we need to work on keeping them out. To battle back for a draw and then lose it late was very disappointing indeed."

If the squad are determined to react well, then they have a perfect opportunity to do so at Villa Park on Tuesday night.

"We're lucky that we've got another game coming up so quickly, we've got a chance to put it right. We've picked ourselves up from tough days before and we can do so again."
