Jobi full of confidence

Captain McAnuff invigorated by win

Skipper Jobi McAnuff was thrilled to lead the Royals to their first Premier League league win of the season and says the players are full of confidence going into Saturday's match at Wigan.

Reading recovered from a shaky first half display against an in-form Everton side, but showed terrific character to turn the game on its head after the interval.

"We're really pleased to finally get the win," Jobi said. "We felt that it's been coming - and perhaps we got that little bit of luck that we haven't had.

"We rode our luck a bit in the first half but I thought Feds was superb. He showed what a real top 'keeper he is and pulled off some really good saves and kept us in it.

"It was a fantastic second half performance, especially on the back of that first half. We showed what we're about - we got up the pitch and really got after them."

McAnuff also had a word for man-of-the-moment Sean Morrison - and said that, away from his cereal adventures, he's done a fantastic job since he was introduced to the side.

"I'm delighted for him. It's not easy when you're not playing games and earlier on in the season it would have been easy for him to be frustrated.

"But he's been working really hard in training and the gaffer's given him a chance which he's taken with both hands. He's been excellent and long may it continue.

"We now focus on Wigan. Games in quick succession suit us so we'll be going into Saturday with loads of confidence off the back of an important win."
