"We reacted brilliantly"

Morrison delighted with second half performance

Centre back Sean Morrison was proud of the match-winning transformation the Royals achieved from the first half to the second.

He accepted the fact that Champions League chasing Everton were the better team in the first 45, but took nothing away from Reading's remarkable turnaround after the break.

"The first half wasn't the best," Morro admitted. "We tried to keep our shape and they had a lot of the ball - there was a point in the first half where I couldn't actually breathe because we were under so much pressure.

"It was a bit of a sloppy goal to give away, but I thought the boys came out in the second half and took the game to Everton. We were absolutely fantastic.

"The transformation from the first half to the second half was great. The gaffer spoke to us and we came out and reacted brilliantly. We defended from the front and the tempo was lifted.

"Every time we caught them on the break it looked like we were going to go forward and score. Alfie has been fantastic and scored the goals that changed the game - so he deserves a lot of praise."

For Morrison, there was a twinge of disappointment as the Royals couldn't quite register another clean sheet - but the big defender had a huge smile on his face as he recalled one or two heroics challenges that were resoundingly appreciated by the Royals faithful.

"Like I said in the week, it was all about getting three points on the board. We managed to do it today, although we didn't keep a clean sheet.

"It was a good tackle to be fair! And it was fantastic to hear a huge cheer from the crowd and for them to sing my name. To be playing and starting in the Premier League is a dream come true and I'm loving every second."
