Cummings and Kebe renew acquaintances
Shaun Cummings admitted that he had fulfilled a lifetime ambition with his first Premier League appearance, and is relishing renewing his partnership with Jimmy Kebe.
The full back was handed his first league start of the season for the 2-2 draw with Newcastle, and immediately rekindled his understanding with the Malian winger.
“I’ve played with Jimmy throughout most of last season, we know each other’s strengths and that partnership is very good at the moment,” said Shaun.
“Hopefully we can keep it going. The day was a good experience, I’ve been waiting patiently and finally got that opportunity on the main stage, where I always wanted to be as a kid. I’ve finally reached that.”
The frustration of a controversial equaliser from Demba Ba clearly resonated throughout the squad, though Cummings refused to dwell on the controversial decision.
“It’s another one where people might call for technology, but here’s nothing we can do about it, we’ve just got to get on with it. It’s about preparation now – we take the positives from this performance and the performance in midweek, and take that to Swansea.”
