Boss' praise for fans

27 October 2012

McDermott's supporter backing

Brian McDermott heaped praise on our supporters after Saturday's 3-3 home draw and was delighted to give them a result thanks to a late double comeback from his team.

Brian has always said how much he enjoys being at Madejski Stadium, and that has borne out in a superb home record under his management.

He has always stressed the importance of home support and said, "Madejski Stadium is never an easy place to come to, it's hard for opposition and it will be all season.

"Our crowd were fantastic today, really kept the boys going and they nearly got us over the line. This is a really important place for us and I'm convinced our boys are going to be fine. The crowd went away knowing we gave everything.

"We're eight games in and finding our feet. We've got to keep going, doing what we have to. We're in the results game and in its own way that is a positive result today.

"We have a very good record here and the most important thing is that I hope the fans are enjoying what we're trying to do, I know I am.

"I hope they're living each and every game, we are trying our best to get there with the results we need.

"If you consider where the club has come in the last ten or twenty years, it's phenomenal. We weren't in this League, it's not easy being here, but nothing ever worth achieving is easy. It wasn't easy winning the title last year, believe me."
