Midfielder off to a great start
Lawson D’Ath got off to a fantastic start to his loan spell at Cheltenham Town this weekend, scoring 55 minutes into his Robins debut.
The Royals Academy product only joined the League Two outfit on a short term loan deal this Friday, but quickly settled into life at the Abbey Business Stadium – finishing coolly to send his new side on their way to a 3-0 win over Exeter.
"Lawson scoring on his debut was great," said Town’s assistant manager Neil Howarth.
“It has been a good day. Lawson looked like he had a goal in him all game and it was a fantastic finish.”
The 19-year-old midfielder had told local press that he couldn’t wait to get going and gain more Football League experience.
"I think it's the best opportunity for me at the moment," he said on Friday.
"I want to have a good spell and get a good amount of games. Yeovil was a good experience for me last season and hopefully it will be here.
"I used to live half an hour away from Cheltenham so I've been there before and know about the club already. We played at Whaddon Road in a Youth game when I was a first year scholar so I'm familiar with the ground.
"Reading is where my future is. Obviously things can change - but I see this as a good experience for me and hopefully we can get Cheltenham promoted."
