Mikele: "We'll be doing our utmost"

Everyone at Reading FC can't wait to return to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday - and Mikele Leigertwood is no different.

The visit of Fulham tomorrow will be the Royals' first home match for the Royals for 28 days - far too long for our supporters, who Mikele believes have been fantastic this season.

"It's been a long time since we've played at the Madejski so it's really pleasing to be able to get back in front of our home fans," he said.

"The fans have been excellent. They've been coming in their numbers and shouting and screaming for every ball which really helps us.

"In the second half last week we showed what we're made of - hopefully with the home fans' support we can pick up a win."

After a somewhat hesitant start to the campaign, the Royals are starting to get into their groove - and Leigertwood insists the side can cope with the pressure that comes with searching for that hankered first Premier League win.

"We haven't performed as well as we can do yet but the spirit is ultimately what keeps us going," he added.

"There's always going to be pressure - whether you're top of the league of bottom of it. I know we can deal with that pressure and not let it worry us too much.

"We tend not to look too far ahead - we focus on the next game. We'll be doing our utmost to get the three points and put in a good shift."
