Ladies hammer Rangers

30 October 2012

Reading FC Women 8 – 0 QPR

RFC's Women thrashed Queens Park Rangers 8-0 to boost their goal difference and remain top of the league.

Fran Kirby scored four goals as the Royals ran riot at the weekend, dominating the match from start to finish.

Top scorer Kirby's first goal came after some some early Reading pressure, with her strike too strong for the Rangers' goalkeeper - before she quickly notched her second after Becky Jane crossed in.

From the resulting quick off Kirby dispossessed QPR and picked out Jane, whose shot was blocked - only for it to fall to Alice Palmer to notch her fifth of the season.

Ten minutes later, Kirby set up another. She picked out Stacie Donnelly for the fourth, before finding the net herself after a one-on-one to complete her hat-trick and put Reading 5-0 up before half time.

It took RFC's Ladies just ten minutes to grab another goal after the break. This time, a deft chip from Kirby outside the box found its way into the top corner - her fourth for the match and 14th of the season.

Jane was then released through on goal with the 'keeper, and registered her first of the game, before scoring a fabulous individual goal to put Reading 8-0 up.

Grace Moloney wasn't tested much but did save a QPR shot to keep a clean sheet. It's now five league wins in a row for the Ladies, who are top of the league and now boast a very strong goal difference.
