Our preview for Saturday’s gameTeam News
Swans: Ashley Williams is a doubt because of an ankle injury, Jonathan De Guzman has a small problem while Kemy Agustien is back in training. Kyle Bartley and Neil Taylor are still struggling with injuries.
Royals: Mikele Leigertwood hopes to recover from a dead leg in time for the Swans clash – but otherwise, Brian McDermott has no new injury concerns. Jimmy Kebe and Jason Roberts are both available, of course, after returning from injury last week.
Head to head
Reading supporters won’t particularly enjoy being reminded of our last meeting with the Swans – a Championship play-off final 4-2 defeat. But head-to-head, the Royals have historically fared better and have excelled in a number of fixtures at the Madejski – notably 4-0 in 2008/09, 3-1 after extra time in the 2005/06 Carling Cup and 5-1 back in 2000/01.
This fixture has now SOLD OUT.
This weekend’s referee
Mike Dean will be the referee on the Liberty Stadium, with his assistants J Collin and J Brooks and fourth official S Hoope. The last time Dean officiated the Royals was in last season’s momentous 3-1 win at Southampton – and he did not have to book a single Reading player.
By Car: Simply take the M4 (west), exit at junction 42 onto the A483.
Parking: Car parks are available close to the ground – for more information click here.
