Academy down Canaries

5 September 2012

Reading u18s 4-1 Norwich City u18s

The Royals Academy continued their impressive start to the season with a convincing 4-1 win over Norwich City at Hogwood Park this past weekend.

Reading came flying out of the traps – with Tarique Fosu-Henry opening the scoring inside two minutes, before Josh Shama made it two just before the break.

Big Uche Ikpeazu then rattled home his fourth goal in the opening three games, before Shama grabbed his brace in the dying stages – meaning Cameron McGeehan’s late penalty for the Canaries was a mere consolation.

Reading: Lincoln, Amofah, Griffin, Cooper, Hyam, Kuhl (Jenkinson 80), Stacey (Oliyide 80), Kelly, Ikpeazu, Shama, Fosu-Henry
Subs not used: Moore, Dickie, Murombedzi

Norwich: Matthews, Norman, Wyatt, McGeehan (c), McFadden, Lokko, Carroll (St. Louis 65), Hodd (Eaton-Collins 65), Randall (Grant 75), Morris, Browne
