Kebe set to make return
Royals winger Jimmy is in the frame to play in tonight’s Capital One Cup tie at QPR after recovering from a hamstring injury.
If selected, Kebe will make his first appearance of the campaign – returning to the squad after being a key contributor to last season’s success. Further changes could also be made to the team.
Jason Roberts, however, will be out for a little while longer, and Adam Federici is recuperating after seeing a specialist for his knee problem.
Manager Brian McDermott said, “We lost Roberts and Kebe at the start of the season, and to get them back will be a real boost - they are big players for us. If all is well after training on Tuesday then Jimmy has a chance, but we’ll have to wait and see on Jason Roberts.
“We’ll change the team – but I’ve just been having conversations about ‘fringe players’. I don’t think they will regard themselves as fringe players - they will regard themselves as players that can play in this division. There are a lot of people very, very keen to play."
Meanwhile, QPR defenders Anton Ferdinand and Jose Bosingwa are both ruled out of the match due to hamstring injuries – while Armand Traore, Andy Johnson and Fabio are also unavailable.
