Shorey backs Sue Ryder Care

19 September 2012

Left back supports a great cause

Royals full-back Nicky Shorey was on hand to show the club’s support for Sue Ryder’s forthcoming charity Starlight Hike – a very worthy cause.

The hike, which is designed to raise funds for Sue Ryder's care in Berks, Bucks and Oxon, encompasses a 10km walk around Green Park on Saturday 29th September.

The charity cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at Nettlebed Hospice, Duchess of Kent House and community services in Wokingham and Newbury.

The walk will set off at midnight, and there will be a number of bands and entertainment around the route and hikers will be welcomed at the finish with a bacon butty and hot drink!

On behalf of the club, Nicky showed his support, “The Starlight Hike is a great way for people to come together and raise funds for a really deserving cause. Good luck to everyone taking part!”
