Academy win sixth in a row

20 April 2013

Bolton U18s 0 - 2 Royals U18s

Reading's Academy made it six wins from six as they won 2-0 at Bolton on Saturday afternoon.

Dominic Hyam and Jack Stacey were on the scoresheet in a deserved win for the Royals - that keeps their excellent form going an turns up the heat on third-placed Southampton.

Eamonn Dolan's men are now just two points behind the Saints with three games in hand - and the two sides meet on Wednesday afternoon for what will be a crucial Elite League fixture.

Reading needed to win to give them the best chance of a top three finish, which ensures qualification to the final stage of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League season, and the result was rarely in doubt.

On a windy day in Lancashire, Dominic Hyam got his head on a set piece from Craig Tanner to set the Royals on their way - before Jack Stacey slotted home a one-on-one.

It maintains a terrific run of form for the Academy with just four games to go. Click here to view our fixtures/results and here for the league table.
