Jem: Fight until the end

8 April 2013

Karacan vows to keep going

Jem Karacan says the Royals will continue to give this season everything they've got - and felt that we deserved better from Saturday.

A dominant start from the Royals led to chances for Sean Morrison, Adam Le Fondre and Adrian Mariappa, but we were dealt a harsh blow when Jay Rodriguez bundled in to steal the lead for the Saints.

"Obviously, we're disappointed. We started really brightly, had a high tempo and got in their faces. We just couldn't get that goal which was frustrating and then got caught with a suckerpunch. We just never got back into it.

"All the boys were gutted in there. But we've got to keep going on. There's another three points up for grabs on Saturday and we've got to give it everything we've got until it's mathematically done. All we can do is keep going."

The midfielder is determined that the Royals keep going until the end of the season - and says the side are always capable of going on a run.

"We'll keep going until the end - the boys have got great spirit, we've shown that year after year. No one can fault us for that, we always keep going until the final whistle. The new gaffer has come in and tried to get us all going again.

"We've got a few games left, we want to finish the season on a high and we've got to get three points on Saturday. That's all we can do. If we can get a win, you never know. We have in it us to go on a run, we've shown that last season and this season."
